Hawai`i has no
snakes and no rabies and we'd like to keep it that way. On the flight to
the island, you'll be asked to fill out short form declaring any animals
or agricultural products you've brought along. If you have any of
this contraband, it'll probably be quarantined or destroyed.
At
the airport, starting your trip back to the mainland, your luggage will
be passed through U.S. Department of Agriculture
scanners. Get your luggage scanned before going to the ticket
counter. Most fruits and some flowers, unless they have an Dept. of
Ag. inspection stamp on them, can't be taken to the mainland.
Please
note: If you're just going to another island in Hawai`i, you don't need to
go through Ag. inspection.
