Kamaole
Beach III |
Maui
has over 80 named beaches, and in the Kihei/Wailea/Makena are you'll
find an almost continuous string gorgeous beaches from Ma`alaea to La
Perouse Bay. The condo is adjacent to Kamaole
Beach III, and just to the south you'll find Keawakapu.
Snorkeling
Maui county has hundreds of great snorkeling
locations. I prefer snorkeling early in the day when the seas are
usually calmer and visibility is at its best in the shallower areas.
One
personal note. The reefs of Hawai`i are absolutely loaded with fish.
If you snorkel you'll see a varied and abundant display of marine
life. PLEASE DON'T FEED THE FISH--No
peas, breadcrumbs or anything else. It's bad for the fish, it's bad
for the water and you'll disturb the natural behavior of these sea
creatures.

Whale watching
|

|
Each
year, from November until early May, the Hawaiian waters are
home to migrating Pacific Humpback Whales. My
favorite whale watch boats are run by
The
Pacific Whale Foundation. They sail from Ma`alaea and offer a
number of good whale watch opportunities.
